A world traveller who hasn't yet traveled all around the world yet but would definitely want to see and explore more!

Hi there 👋🏻 Nice that you popped up on my profile. I'm currently living in Finland, Lappeenranta and studying fine arts in the Institute of Design, LAB University of Applied Sciences. Originally I'm from Tampere, but I have also lived in Helsinki and worked a few winter seasons in Lapland.

I love spending time in nature and all activities that I can do outdoors: forest walks, hiking trail running, wild swimming and cycling. I'm used to do knitting and arts whenever I'm feeling less sporty. I love to connect, have deeper conversations, good laughs and exchange of thoughts with different people all around the world. I'm always interested in getting different views of life and learning some new skills. Books and cooking are also good ways to spend my time.

After all I think I'm a bit finnish and shy by my nature from time to time. But in the right company I might get very talkative and usually I love to have some conversation with others! I like to think I'm quite an open-minded person and usually very curious about new things. I'm not yet sure what I'm gonna be when I grow up as an adult, but while trying to figure it out, I'm focusing on doing my best, being kind and honest with myself and with the people I'm surrounded by.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couch surfing is a wonderful chance to connect people all around the world and it helps like minded people finding each other.
I believe a kind soul finds friends wherever they go :)

I'm happy to be part of the community that allows people connect all around the world and helps them to travel with lower budget.

It is good to have a chance to meet nice local people while travelling and get to know them a bit better, to understand about their country and culture too. It is usually the people whom I remember the best from the places I have visited :)

I would also love to offer a place to stay and meet up with surfers that are visiting Finland. Don't hesitate to ask and send me a message, if I can't host I might still be able to meet up and share some of my knowledge (related to Lappeenranta, Finland, or generally in life ;p )

Interests

I really like to connect with nature and I like all types of simple things that bring me closer to myself and the inner wisdom that lies in everyone. I enjoy moving my body, walking barefoot, doing sports and eating healthy local food. I find dancing and swimming to be a few of the things that bring me some of the purest joy. When it comes to dancing, I can't say I'm good at it, I often have to take myself out of my comfort zone, but I think most often it is the way to find something more.

I always need something to do with my hands and creativity is part of my life that I use in one way or another, whether it is about arts, cooking or problem solving. As an art student sometimes it is hard to decide which medium I should focus on, because I love them all: watercolours, oil painting, ceramics, jewellery art, sculpture, photography, etc, etc... And besides fine arts, I love all types of art, such as dance, music, literature and theatre.

I'm also very interested in some spiritual and philosophical stuff such as yoga, meditation, connection with nature, energies and healing (crystals, herbs, ect). Previously mentioned stuff I don't take too seriously, but definitely I would love to hear and learn more about them 🙏🏻 I'm also always interested in trying new sports (as some dance). In addition I love cooking and I'm open sharing and learning new recipes (the healthy ones 😉).

Music, Movies, and Books

I like usually calm and often melancolic music, some ethnical instruments such as handpand and different flutes. But in the other hands I love some joyfull music that makes me wanna dance.
Some artists music that I return to listen often are Malte Marten, Danit, The Pirouettes, Oh Wonder, Of Monsters and Men, Ludovico Einaudi, Oscar Schuster, Billy Joel and many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam on the Benagil cave in Portugal, Lagoa. It was a very wavy day and I did my way to the cave all alone. Luckily the way back I got some company from guys I met inside the cave. There were no other ways to reach the cave than swimming or by boat, but they said it was too wavy for reaching it by boat that day. We were on the beach and I saw people just disappearing on the sea. So I got curious and asked some locals where they went. They told me about the cave. I asked my friend if he wanted to come with me, but he was unsure about making it till the cave in the cold wavy water. The cave was not visible from the beach. After getting directions from the locals, I decided to reach it by swimming on my own. I must admit that on the way there I was scared as hell and thought for a second that I may die there by trying it 😂 It could have been so, but luckily I made it, from the beach inside the cave and back to the beach by swimming! This is one of my most memorable memories from Portugal 🌊🌊

Company for having (hopefully) an interesting conversations. I like making food for more than one person so I would not mind to share my meal with the hosts if they are up to it :)
