About Me
We are getting back to hosting here in Helsinki, but our schedules are quite full at the moment and we are still settling in so we are taking it slow :) and check couch details before requesting!
🌀Hello! We are two enthuastic and adventurous travelers from Finland and after spending two years more or less on the road we have settled to Helsinki to study and work. Even though we are not seeing new places all the time at the moment we still want to continue meeting interesting people and sharing experiences. We have done plenty of home stays during our travels and been able to experience some of the purest kindness and hospitality and that’s why we are happy to finally be able to give some of it back to other travelers!
We also still try to make shorter trips and pursue spontaneous ideas when ever possible (like moving to Tallinn for summer haha). We spend a lot of time outdoors and love exploring both, the nature and urban environment around us. So although we are on no scale locals to Helsinki, we are excited to show you our favorite spots and explore more together. We also like to go out, mostly to listen to techno or hiphop but up for any kind of party if it has good vibes!
We can also give you great tips on visiting the South-West coast and archipelago of Finland where we are both originally from. In our very biased opinion it is some of the most beautiful landscape in the world (summer time) and you should definitely go! 🤠
Some things about us as individuals:
Peppi:
As an endlessly curious person I aim to challenge myself, practice discomfort and find constant adventures. I tend to ask ”why?” a lot and enjoy conversations where everyone questions each others and themselves and are open to expand their way of thinking. My biggest passions are story telling, social science and ecology. I’m an extreme extrovert and seek for sharing and feeling of community but also value individuality and freedom. Solo traveling has been the perfect fulfiller of these wishes, since it forces you to trust and connect with strangers but also gives the biggest lessons about yourself and your abilities. I view life as a journey and want to keep the mentality both when traveling and when not. At the moment I study social and cultural anthropology in Helsinki University so I spend most week days at the campus, but my schedule is flexible so I will most likely find time to spend with guests!
Konsta:
Some of my passions are traveling, music and movies. I spend a lot of time on my computer either gaming, making music or learning abt interesting things. On my free time I also enjoy going on walks to explore the suburbs, find good coffee & beer places and go out to listen to good music. Excited to meet interesting people and exchange stories and thoughts about life! I work on a cruise ship between Helsinki and Stockholm, usually one week at a time so either I have a lot of time to spend with guests or I’m fully away.
We are also passionate about self-sustaibality and effective use of existing resourcess and find barter based platforms like CS inspiring and important to maintain. Happy to be part of it!
