About Me

Live without haste

I like imagination.I like trees. And theatre. And movies. And my bike (particularly at night). And reading and hearing stories. I like to laugh and see people laugh. I like to drink ouzo and play the begleri. I like being and walking (and waking up) in nature. I love it when the light goes off at the cinema. I like to listen to music, to talk to people, to be by the sea or the mountains. I like mythology. I like food. I am obsessed with the sea. I like football. I don't have a smartphone or facebook. I don't appreciate consumer-society. I like tea and coffee houses. I don't like to wear a watch. I hate being in a rush. I like to dance. I like time. I'd like to have more time to travel, to learn to dance, to drink tea (especially green). I like to travel, discover new places and people. I like to walk and run. I love poetry. I like to dream and talk about dreams. I like to do photography. I think there are more things to like than to dislike on earth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've mainly surfed, but when have the opportunity to host, so I'm glad to do it when I'm around. (Somehow, though, the new cs algorithm relegated me to the umpteenth page of hosts).

Music, Movies, and Books

A few books that come to my mind :
"The brothers Karamazov", "The Idiot" by Dostoyevsky/ anything (except the poems) by Borges / Seferis' poems/ "War and Peace"/ "The Leopard" by di Lampedusa/"The Little prince"/anything by Roberto Calasso/"The Khazar dictionnary" by Milorad Pavic / Celan / "Pedro Paramo"-Juan Rulfo.
So much //

Tom Waits !!

And then Pj Harvey,Nick Cave and Nicolas Jaar. And a bit later Portished. And then perhaps Lhasa and Captain Beefheart. And Bach will be lurking around. Tricky too. And the Blues. And gospel from the 40s and rock from the 50s. And old men from distant countries playing one-stringed fiddles. And Iggy Pop and Amon Tobin. And rembetika. And"underground" and some less "underground" hip-hop. And some deep-low-or-whatever-electro.And And And except pop and awful things like dubstep.
I absolutely love music and discovering new stuff in all kinds of genres !

Some films that come to my mind :
Sokurov's "Faust", "The mill and the cross - Lech Majewski, "Just the Wind" -Bence Fliegauf, "Bab'Aziz"- Nacer Khemir, "Princess Mononoke" - Miyazaki, "Once upon a time in the west", "La danza de la realidad"-Jodorowsky, "Ran"-Kurosawa, "Roma"-Fellini,"On the other side"-Fatih Akin, "Night on earth"- Jim Jarmusch...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wrote all kinds of stuff here at first.
Then I found it all a bit ridiculous.
So I erased it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach all kinds of absurd little things, you just have to ask !
