Overview
About Me
Born and raised on a small farm in Belgium, settled in India since 1998. I love travelling in the outdoors: ultra running, sea swimming, hiking, biking, free diving and scuba diving. I worked as a project manager in Cisco, India for 2 decades until I quit my job in 2017 living a more minimalist lifestyle in the mountains and exploring the Himalayas (blog: ultrajourneys.org).
I love going on month long exploration journeys in remote corners of the Himalayas with a lightweight pack, indulge in natural beauty and stay with mountain tribes and shepherds. I teach people on alpine style exploration in the Himalayas.
In 2008 I founded the Chennai Trekking Club (CTC), a 40 thousand member non profit volunteer organization in South India which organizes outdoor, sports, environmental and social events. CTC cleaned up tons of garbage from the beaches with tens of thousands of volunteers, did rescue, relief and rehabilitation during the 2015 Chennai floods and 2018 Gaja cyclone in South India.
Right now traveling the world on foot and cycle moving along with the seasons. Love hiking the mountains in summer and diving the oceans in winter.
