ABOUT ME

So, I heard about this site through a friend. I'm a little weary because it's just strange to be asking people if I can stay on their couch. What's worse is that it's people who are not even related to me, so I have no guilt to inflict upon them.

Anywho, hi. My name is Pedro. I've been having to travel a great deal due to conferences and meetings for work. While my job pays for the travel I really like to stay a few days before/after I go to a conference so that I can explore the city a bit.

I grew up in a small city in Mexico and in a a small town in Hawaii and find the amazingness of the world overwhelming at times.

I work leading a nonprofit, but have a really avid interest in Theatre and Art. I love music and everything associated with it (you know, singing, dancing, playing instruments, all that stuff).

I'm funny (in my head), sarcastic, love to make fun of you, of myself, and of everyone. No one should take themselves too seriously. I cry at commercials that are touching, and sometimes my politeness is mistaken by shyness. I like to be independent but I really like people. Smiley people are the best people.

Hung out with couch surfers on a few cities and it was so great.

Interests

I love dogs (and cats too, but I'm allergic, but I still do love em, so I end up sneezing a lot). I'm into Public Health and nonprofit work. I also really love theatre, arts, dancing, and all that creative stuff. I'm Mexican but grew up deprived of Latino culture in Hawaii, so I really like experiencing Latino food and culture while I'm on the mainland.

Favorite book currently: When Engulfed in Flames (David Sedaris)

Some favorite movies: Gone with the Wind, Citizen X, The Lives of Others, Pan's Labyrinth, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, Airplane!

Music: I really like Selena, Adele, Lizzo, Robbie Williams, Ella Fitzgerald.

TV: Golden Girls, Futurama, the Office, 30 Rock, Ugly Betty. And for some reason I really like watching Spongebob and Chowder.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen the birth of 4 of nieces/nephews. It was pretty damn amazing, consider it was living things coming out of the bottom half of my sisters.
