À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

I took early retirement from an exciting and successful career in education, and now I spend most of the year traveling around the world. I'm currently artist in residence with the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.

ABOUT ME

I can only host occasionally as I'm very busy and travelling. I have travelled a great deal and love meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. I'm interested in cultural activities, and love visiting museums, theatre, exhibitions. Amateur chess enthusiast, artist, musician... If you want to stay for one or two nights then drop me a message. To avoid wasting everyone's time please address me by my name Moodleprof and let me know dates.

PHILOSOPHY

Lefty, liberal, aesthete (probably Lord Byron from another life.)

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have surfed in a few countries and always had a brilliant experience. I live in Zimbabwe most of the year but return to my home in central London for a couple of months every summer. Particularly interested in art and theatre, and member of lots of organisations. Drop me a line if you want to meet for coffee, or trip to an exhibition.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I began by a proxy experience in that my friend is an experienced CS'er, and I've met and taken many guests around London. He recommended me.

Centres d'intérêt

I like to go meet friends, theatre especially, love exhibitions, music events - bit of a cultural junkie in this regard :)

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Too many to list, although Lonesome Dove, The Wind Up Bird Chronicles, And Quiet Flows the Don are favourite books.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

The southern cross from an Australian desert; Lenin's Tomb in Moscow (pre-perestroika Russia); Check-point Charlie in Berlin before the wall came down. Met HRH Prince (now King) Charles, Princess Anne, Bishop Desmond Tutu. Camping in the Sahara desert watching shooting stars. Uluhuru (Ayers Rock) at sunrise on a camel. Performed in the Royal Albert Hall. Met Van Morrison, David Hockney, Paul McCartney, amongst others...
Climbed Mount Sinai and visited the Burning bush at St Katherine Monastery.
