About Me

Hi!

I'm Piet, a 29-year old Belgian :) I currently combine my administrative job with a classical clarinet course at the Conservatory of Ghent, yet trying to travel as much as I can inbetween!
Travelling is a nice break of the daily, routinous practice sessions, so I don't travel with my instruments :)

I have been described as bubbly and outgoing, although I can be shy at first. Once the ice is broken, I can get very talkative. My mind is basically a rolodex that keeps rolling over topics that interest me and make me wonder about weird stuff, which results into me asking random questions from 'do koalas live in groups?' to 'what do you think Africa would look like politically if colonisation never happened?'.

CURRENT MISSION
Finish my bucketlist, sometimes with things that weren't even on it.

Facts sheet:
- I can name all the countries in the world without a map
- I'm always interested in learning about other ways of life and cultures
- I can drink a bottle of wine without throwing up
- I usually don't drink a whole bottle of wine
- Dogs love me
- It takes me less than 15 minutes to get ready in the morning
- 'Live and let live' is my motto

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of the best things about travelling is the amazing people you meet, either fellow travellers as well as locals.

My only experience with couchsurfing so far was pre covid, staying some places in California, but I have couchsurfed since in Cuba, and try to couchsurf everywhere I go (either for a place to stay or just to meet up with locals). My city isn't a very popular destination, but I have been lucky to host now and then!
