我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a wonderful thing. A few years ago I met Karel in a sleepy cosy village at the bulgarian Black Sea Coast. He was my host there. During summer Karel camped in his old Mercedes Benz truck a little outside the village close to the sea. I only planned to stay for three days, in the end I stayed two weeks with Karel. We made friends. We enjoyed our time beeing campers at a beautiful spot. In his truck Karel traveled through Europe the last three years. He told me he wants to sell the truck, go to Asia and explore a nice place to stay at. When I left the village I knew I would see Karel again.
This year I did so. When I was planning my Southeast Asia tour, I remembered Karel living on a small island in the Philippines right now. Without further ado I booked a flight to Palawan Islands, Philippines. And there we met again. He runs a basic campground far out on a small island in the middle of the sea. And he built his own paradise. Turquoise water, white beach, coral reefs. It was a pleasure to meet Karel again and it was wonderful experience though.
