About Me

I'm really easy-going and independent. I am almost always up for anything adventurous and new! With my art history background, you'll find that I am pretty much mesmerized by the architecture and design of buildings, art pieces in the museum or on the streets, and the culture surrounding it. I also have a strong background in the Exercise Sciences and will be applying for a PhD next year to study skeletal muscle plasticity with resistance exercise, aging, and disease.

Aside from being a huge nerd, I am also a big fan of the outdoors and will jump at the chance to go hiking, climbing, sailing, swimming, surfing, you name it. My favourite feeling is summiting a high mountain and experiencing the sunrise and freedom on top of it. I love having a good night out having fun and dancing with friends. I recently just got into (latin) ballroom dancing and absolutely love it!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Want to experience a new country in the eyes of a local, as opposed to staying in hostels. Trying something new! This is my first time doing this so I hope to experience something different and get to know more about people's life and travel experiences. A lot of my good and close friends have been those who I've met on my trips and I would love to meet more who I can have a good time getting to know.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - 70s,80s,90s rock, reggaeton, classical, anything not mainstream.
Movies - I have lots of favourites, more into TV Shows. I don't like ranking things so I either love it or I don't! Love Shawshank Redemption, Game of Thrones, Modern Family to name a few.
Books - always been a fan of Harry Potter, Into Thin Air, 4-Hour Workweek and more. Nowadays I read more scientific papers on skeletal muscle and related topics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saw both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans at the same time on the summit of Volcan Baru and finished building the water system for a small town in Honduras and saw the joy and happiness on the locals' faces as they received clean water for the first time.
