I can host in Petaling Jaya, a city about 40 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur by train. Please check my home section for details. If I’m unable to host, I’d still love to meet up for lunch, coffee, a beer, or a city walk. If you’re lucky - all of the above.

🙏🏽 Thank you!

I’m from Singapore but currently living between Malaysia, Singapore, and Bali. I’m open to hosting and meeting up.

Born in Malaysia, I moved to Singapore in my 20s, then to the UK, and later to Paris in my 40s. My mission is to host at least one person from every country, and so far, I've welcomed guests from 52 countries! Through this journey, I’ve built many meaningful friendships that I cherish.

I’m deeply in love with India and looking to spend more time there. I’m also seeking a base in India, so connections from India are most welcomed!

I also host, meet up, and organize Couchsurfing events during my travels.

I was a vegetarian for years—until a plate of deep-fried chicken wings tempted me during lockdown. Sad but true! Since then, I’ve mastered the art of chicken curry and could probably make it in my sleep. If the thought of a spicy, aromatic, and flavorful curry makes your mouth water, let me know—I’ll share the recipe! You can easily swap the meat for veggies or go fully vegan. However, I’ve given up meat from 1 Jan, let’s see how that pan out.

Cooking is my therapy, and my kitchen is a playground of flavors. I love making Italian, Indian, Chinese, and Malay dishes, with a touch of fusion madness. My red-eye chili linguine (a fiery twist on Aglio Olio) is a crowd favorite, and my one-pot, no-fuss Christmas Fruit Cake has been declared delicious by many.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m eager to connect with interesting people from around the world. I enjoy deep, meaningful conversations—beyond just travel stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a diverse taste in music, movies, and books, and I love discovering new ones from different cultures.

🎶 Music: I enjoy a mix of old-school classics, indie vibes, and global sounds. Anything with deep lyrics, soul, or a great beat catches my attention. Lately, I’ve been into Bollywood tunes.

🎬 Movies: I appreciate films that make you think, laugh, or transport you to another world. I enjoy everything from thought-provoking indie films to epic adventures. Some of my favorites include Eat Pray Love, Under the Tuscan Sun.

📚 Books: I’m an avid reader and love books that inspire, challenge perspectives, or tell incredible stories. Some of my favorites are The God of Small Things, Midnight’s Children, and Shantaram. I'm always open to recommendations! if you’re looking for recommendations, check out my "10 Books You Must Read Before You Die" list: https://gpoovan.medium.com/10-books-you-must-read-before-you-die-858eefb3717e
