About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Dance, Play music and inspire through service.

To Potential Surfers.
I only host people with references. Take the time to read my profile, and send a message that lets me know you read my profile. 2-3 days is usually the upper limit on a stay. I like to host for the social exchange, so if your just looking for a place to crash, I'd recommend AirBnB.

ABOUT ME

I'm an excellent blues dancer, and love getting people hooked on social dancing. Ask me for a lesson, and i'll drag you out to a dance.

I'm also a (learning)musician. I'd love to learn some music theory and meet musicians of all kinds. I play violin. I'm self taught, and never learned to read music, but i would love to play and develop as a musician.

PHILOSOPHY

Gifts inspire gratitude and generosity. It's infectious. When I witness generosity, I want to be generous too. We need each others' gifts as we need each others' generosity to invite us into the realm of the gift ourselves. - Charles Eisenstein ( An Amazing Author whose been a profound influence on how i see the world and relationships.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been involved in CS as a Host, a surfer and as an Organizer of meetups.
I'm on CS because it's a wonderful way to share the world, and find people with a passion for life. I love to be able to see the joy of my own city through the eyes of another person.

On August 1, 2012 I started a epic, and wonderful two and a half month trip, and hitchhiked 3200 miles from Florida to Tennessee and back again. I taught dance lessons, played music, and got hosted by the most amazing people along the way. I was blown away!!! I learned so much in such a short amount of time, and found so many genuine, caring, and thoughtful people who lead with trust and inspire the same in others. Cs is one of the most intriguing, and amazing community I've ever seen, and I'm proud to be able to be a part of this amazing network.

Interests

I enjoy gardening, and creating edible landscapes, and i'm a fairly decent tour guide if i've been in an area for any length of time. I'm pretty good at swing and blues dancing, and can give a good 20 min crash course. I'm learning how to play violin, love hanging out with people, and learning new things and new talents, and........ Home cooked food is heaven too me!!!!!

I've moonlighted in alot of hobbies, and i always love being introduced to new ones. If your passionate about something, tell me about it!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After hitchhiking for a solid month and a half, I was seriously inspired by people's open handed generosity It was a beautiful experience.

The first ride of the whole trip. I stepped into a Burger King, because it was starting to rain, and i wasn't haven't luck flagging anyone down for a ride. So i sat down to breakfast, and a woman in her 70's walked up and offered a ride to the intersection, that connected to my road out of town. She cleaned out the passenger seat of her car, and as we drove a conversation started. About family, and music, and life, and we were already at my stop. Se said she had time, and rather then taking me five miles, she turned right, and drove 60 miles out of her way. We were talking the whole time, trading life stories, and family. she was so appreciative to have someone to talk with, and i was glad to not be walking in the rain. She dropped me 4 blocks from my host's house, and proceeded to give me $20 dollars for the journey.I had plenty of cash, and would never ask anyone for money. She literally insisted I have it..... I was absolutely stunned by the kindness of that woman. She offered a ride, and i accepted for 5 miles. I don't even remember her name, but seeing the kindness of people like her restores my faith in humanity.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share. I believe in a world where people can share their gifts without money, to freely give, and freely receive without expectation or attachment. Whether it's advice or wisdom, help cooking and cleaning, or simply the kindness of an open hand I want share freely all that i can. I'd like to leave my hosts better then i found them, knowing that i've contributed to the CS community with every interaction i have.

What I Can Share with Hosts

How can I help you?
CS is free, but I appreciate and like to contribute to the community how ever i can. If I'm surfing, feel free to ask me for help with whatever.
Got a pile of dishes? Not for long!
Need an extra hand moving furniture? I'm a stocky guy with a pickup truck.
Got a project that you need help with organizing? I've even got the smarts to handle that.
Feeling lazy, and just want to grab a few beers? I'm down with that too.
