About Me
Hello everyone! I’m Prabesh Banjara, currently living in Kathmandu, originally from the beautiful region of Gorkha, near Mount Manaslu—the 8th highest peak in the world. I’ve been working as a mountain guide since 2013, and my passion for nature and wildlife runs deep.
I love walking, running, and exploring the outdoors. Whenever I get the chance, I travel to experience new places and cultures. So far, my journey has taken me to Thailand, 🇹🇭Indonesia, 🇮🇩Malaysia, 🇲🇾China, 🇨🇳Qatar, 🇶🇦Switzerland, 🇨🇭France, 🇫🇷Germany, 🇩🇪Belgium, 🇧🇪the Netherlands, 🇳🇱Spain, 🇪🇸and India. 🇮🇳
Meeting new people, sharing travel stories, and exchanging cultural experiences is something I truly enjoy. Always open-minded and respectful, I’m grateful for every connection I make along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In 2017, while on a backpacking trip in Chamonix, France, I met some amazing people who were very active on Couchsurfing. They recommended I try the app—especially for meeting travelers and connecting with locals while on the road. That’s how I ended up here!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2016, I spent two weeks traveling through China without speaking the language—and without access to Google, Facebook, or WhatsApp. It was a true adventure and one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe in the power of connection through teaching, learning, and sharing. As a mountain guide from Nepal, I love sharing stories from the trails, insights into local culture, and even some Nepali language or simple traditional meals.
At the same time, I’m always open to learning from others—whether it’s about your culture, language, or just life experiences. I enjoy meaningful conversations, respect every space I enter, and always try to bring positive energy wherever I go.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my travel experiences and stories from the mountains, as I’ve been working as a trekking guide in Nepal since 2013. I love exchanging cultures and learning about different ways of life, and I’m always happy to share about Nepalese traditions, food, and language. If you’re interested, I can even teach you a few Nepali phrases or cook a simple local dish!
I’m respectful, tidy, and always try to leave a place better than I found it. More than anything, I enjoy genuine conversations and connecting with kind-hearted people.
