Overview
About Me
Hi, I`m Prakash Nivas from Goa. I’m an documentary filmmaker and a Yog 🧘♂️ teacher who likes traveling, mountaineering, hitchhiking and most of all having adventures.
I had worked as a quality engineer in Goa and then decided to leave my work and set out on a journey in 2018. I returned two years later at the end of 2020, after having traveled extensively through the length and breadth of my beautiful country, India 🇮🇳 and the Indian subcontinent.
Backpacking for two years, I visited every state in India. Living as a complete nomad, I had the good fortune to visit and live with the different tribes of the high Himalayan mountains of the Ladakh, Nepal, Bhutan and Arunachal, the rain forest of the North-East India, the
desert of Rajasthan and the Southern tip at Kanniyakumari.
I have been living with many kinds of people including different indigenous tribal people, all across the Indian subcontinent. I have been very fortunate to have learned about their culture, food and languages - all on a shoestring budget.
Come and meet me and start to know some unusual incidences that are part of my life’s lovely stories.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To see the world from a fresh perspective, through the eyes of the people you're helping.
I guess in a way you could say I'm paying restitution for the kindness that was so easily given to me when I was nomad but to be honest, there is no greater feeling than taking someone into your home, showing them the real Goa and our culture, then seeing that twinkle in their eye--the one that silently shouts "There is nowhere I'd rather be than here with you."
