About Me
IMPORTANT FOR CS-ERS THAT WISH TO GO TO THE RILA MONASTERY!!
It is much easier to get there from Sofia. From Blagoevgrad there is no direct transport, you will need to change the bus in Rila town.

ABOUT US
We are: father Stoyan Berbatov, an Orthodox priest and NOT an exorcist, as it was written in the UK yellow press.
And, since he is a father, Ekaterina is a mother. We have 3 wonderful kids to whom we want to teach breadth of outlook. That's why we love receiving people at our place. Sometimes we regret we can't manage to travel as much as we would like to but, to make up for it, we are ready to host the world.
Father Stoyan was in football and natation in his early years, now you can't draw him away from online chess playing. Father Stoyan likes to taste good red wine, although no wine is best than the one made by his brother. Now he is very motivated in learning French, so French-speaking couchsurfers have priority!
Katia's most favourite hobby is studying, languages or whatever, always reading for exams of a kind. If not busy with learning or taking pictures around, she works as a language instructor or a translator. Used to dance tap-dance once, still tempted to take up again.
The children are: Melania (23 - has her own CS profile), Kiprian (21) and Kliment (17).
We like travelling but seldom plan it. We just say: Let's go! and we go.
PHILOSOPHY
Respect and responsability towards all and everything.
For people speaking French: "Eternité est l'anagramme d'étreinte." (Henry de Montherlant).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW WE PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Although we like visiting friends in different countries, we haven't couchsurfed much, so we are not so experienced as CSurfers. But we've hosted many people. And one thing we know for sure, we love you, couchsurfers. Everyone we've met has found a spot in our hearts.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
During her 7-month stay in Brussels, Katia enjoyed very much meeting people from CS for coffee or drink and walks in nature. She made a lot of friends from different countries, practised languages and learned about cultures, (co-)organized gastronomy meetings...
Now back in Bulgaria, started hosting couchsurfers - Johan and Naima from Paris, Alpha and Ann from Atlanta, Marcin and Katarzyna from Lublin, Mark from Philadelphia, Dominique from (around) Brussels, Zeev, Omri and Noam from Israel, Dompa from Zagreb, Thibaud and Marion from Lausanne, Hiroshi from London/Osaka, Felix from Dresden/Tobel, Fabien and Julien from Grenoble, Nasta, Sophia and Vassilis from Thessaloniki, Christian from Baden Baden/Algarve, Raz from Cornwall, Shin and Keith from CA, Alejandro from Andalusia, Miguel form Porto and Guilia from Curitiba, Christine from Munich, Carlos from (around) Barcelona, Allison from Pennsylvania, Brigitte from San Diego/Granada, Katrin and Lennart from Tartu, Pia from Cologne travelling with Jonathan from London. Also had a nice dinner exchange with Morgan from Kansas city, and with Salome and Justine volunteering girls from Georgia and Latvia. And Gery and Joro from Sandanski came twice to our place. Stayed with Julie in Voditsa, Andrei in Bucharest and Barbara and Johannes in Bergamo.
Interests
Oh, we are very curious people, we want to know everything! More than that, we are sympathetic to you. We are sure we can find many common interests. It doesn't matter if you're having different faith views from ours, as far as we respect each other.
We are not vegetarians but we keep lent several times during the year. So if you know some vegan recipes, please share them with us. And if you have some very special local spices, we would kindly ask you to bring us some.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We have three kids, this is the most amazing thing to us. Seeing how they grow up, how they begin to understand the world and have their own opinions on it... Giving life makes us true creators.
Teach, Learn, Share
Before teaching you have to learn yourself. We still learn. And we want to share the world.
