In Afghanistan: Trying my weak Arabic with Afghans, then being introduced to an Arab with a disapproving attitude towards Americans, and watching his expression change, and applause from the Afghans, after I showed them my knowledge of the Book. In Burkina Faso: Seeing the villagers of Linkenkelse sit in protest of the forced departure of their American volunteer for three days during the rainy season.
