About Me

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tend to live in little microcosms with lots of people and lots of space and make it available to interesting travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

a month and a half couchsurfing in montreal. friendly with some of the nyc couchsurfing crowd. attended some of the couchsurfer gatherings. hosted quite a few couchsurfers.

Interests

My passion is wellness.

Wellness at all levels: Personal/Physical Social/Community Environmental

This requires a simple catalyst: AWARENESS

By raising our own consciousness about how we can make better choices is part of being the change we want to see. If it's to be, it's up to me. Start with now.

Music, Movies & Books

Suggested reading: Power Vs Force, David R Hawkins Slow Money, Woody Tasch Anything by Kurt Vonnegut Nowtopia, Chris Carlsson The Revolution Will Not Be Microwaved, Sandor Katz Fermenting Revolution, Chris O'Brien Rules for Radicals, Saul D. Alinsky Edible Forest Gardens, Dave Jacke Permaculture: A Designers' Manual, Bill Mollison Healing With Whole Foods, Paul Pitchford Murray Bookchin Daniel Quinn Tom Robbins H.H. The Dalai Llama ...?

I prefer old movies, or at least movies that don't depend on some cheesy cliche plot and special effects. I love Beethoven and jazz, folk-punk and cabaret, but 90's rock does it for me, too, among others, from the Talking Heads to Stevie Wonder. There are far too many good books to ever list here, but a few favorite authors are Chuck Palahniuk, Aldous Huxley, Kurt Vonnegut, Jack Kerouac and the beats, Dr. Seuss, Daniel Quinn, and anyone that challenges our understanding of "reality." I tend to read a lot of non-fiction on whatever subject I find captivating and necessary for my development.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

life is full of surprises. i had a job in china for 7 months. now i speak a little bit of Mandarin!

Teach, Learn, Share

i love to teach/discuss yoga, meditation, permaculture, aquaculture, bike repair, vegan whole live raw food, nutrition, basic foraging and survival, philosophy/spirituality and fermentation.

Teach me anything that will help me survive independent of the artificial life-support system we call the global economy.

i'd love to learn Japanese, and I'm working on my Spanish!

Canada, China, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Thailand
