About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Very simply to enjoy my life, my friends and family, my work and everything I'm lucky enough to have.

ABOUT ME

My home is in the lively mountain town of Norma about 80 kms south of Rome.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME A REQUEST IF YOU WANT TO BE IN ROME.

The train journey from Rome takes about 45' to the station of Latina. A single ticket costs about 4 euros 50.
PLEASE DON'T SEND ME A REQUEST IF YOU WANT TO BE IN ROME.

NON ABITO A ROMA MA 80 KMS AL SUD NEL PAESE DI NORMA. SONO 45' IN TRENO DA ROMA TERMINI E IL BIGLIETTO SOLO ANDATA COSTA 4 EURO 50.
SIETE PREGATI A NON MANDARMI UNA RICHIESTA SE VOLETE STARE A ROMA.

Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of living abroad, travelling and speaking another language.
And that's exactly what I do.

I often travel on my own having learnt not to wait for people, and sometimes meet up with friends or family somewhere along the way. (My brother lives near Orgiva in the Alpujarras in Andalucia).

I'm a bit of a vegetarian gastronaut - a fantastic combination of travelling and eating - highly recommended (especially here in Italy)!

I love trekking and am often out walking and hiking in the beautiful area around my home.

PHILOSOPHY

Community living and sharing

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, so very, very, very, very good!!

Interests

I love being outside and living in this part of Italy means that I'm more often than not trekking in the mountains, walking on the beach, kayaking or running in the country.

Love the cinema but not crazy about Hollywood stuff.

Love eating out with friends in wonderful local restaurants and trattorias.

I'm a WWOOFer and a HelpExchanger (usually in France and Spain) and a member of CAI (Club Alpino Italiano)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Joined Couchsurfing!

Slept on Masada 'mountain' in Israel and woke up to see the sunrise over the Dead Sea.

Seeing some of the mountain stages of the Giro D'Italia especially in the days of Pantani.

Turning a corner in Granada and seeing the the amazing Al-Hambra in January with the snow-capped Sierra Nevada as a backdrop.

Seeing my nephew at 2 hours old - just incredible.

Went river canoeing in Val Nerina, Umbria...amazing and loved it.

I was politically naive at the time, but I loved my year in Israel living on a kibbutz and moshav.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a member of WWOOF (Worldwide Opportunites on Organic Farms), HelpExchange, warmshowers.org and CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) and will gladly share my stories or tell anyone who's interested about these 4 organisations.
