Hello! Nice to meet you via screen! My name is Angela and I currently live and learn in Victoria BC, territory of the Lekwungen and WSANEC peoples. I am a student of many things- officially environmental studies- and the sad paradox of my life is that it keeps me in front of a screen for so many hours a day. So, as soon as I can escape, I do, and I run or do yoga or get beers with friends or paint or read or enjoy this beautiful island I live on. My philosophy, if I had to sum it up, might go something like this: If you live your life according to other people you will never be rich; if according to nature, you will never be poor. (Epicurus said that, I can't take credit)

Oh man! This requires hours of conversation. Current favourite book: The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao Current favourite artists: Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire, Shakey Graves, Stevie Wonder Current favourite movies: I don't know! I don't keep track :) I have watched Good Will Hunting more than any other movie probably though.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
done a community-based research project in southwestern Guatemala. spent 6 sleepless nights in Barcelona. spent last summer without internet, gloriously cut off from the world, in a house in the middle of nowhere in a beautiful corner of Ontario.
What I Can Share With Hosts
storytelling, cooking (I make a pretty fantastic lasagna, veggie burgers as well), enjoying beers, book recommendations, amateur yoga!
My Interests
running, meandering, really good bread, writing funny things that pop into your head on a corner of scrap paper, beer on a front porch, unexpected conversations, starry nights, the first snow of the year, having breakfast for dinner, laughing so hard you pull an ab muscle (has happened on several occasions), reading, doing the unexpected, awkward dancing, singing the lyrics to old rock songs
