About Me
From April to June 20215 I'm traveling solo by folding bicycle from Yamagata to Okinawa, Japan! It’s a slow journey, and I’m making my way south through a mix of camping, hostels, and Couchsurfing. I’d love to meet locals and fellow travelers along the way, whether it’s for a coffee, a shared meal, or a place to pitch my tent. I’m also always happy to get advice from anyone with experience traveling, camping, or cycling in Japan!
About me:
I grew up in the US, but I moved to Taiwan as a high school exchange student in 2015 and ended up staying through university in 2021, where I studied graphic design. Due to the pandemic, I ended up leaving Taiwan and have been on the road on and off ever since.
Currently I’m working as a freelancer on a variety of video, design, and social media projects. I’ve also lived in Italy as an au pair and studied abroad in Turkey. In addition to English, I speak Mandarin fluently, and can get by with Spanish, Turkish, and Italian. I'd love to pick up some Japanese throughout my time in Japan!
I’m passionate about hiking, art, history, and languages. I also do a bit of running, I completed my second half marathon in March 2025.
I’ve been mostly vegetarian for the past 10 years, though I do eat fish. Before coming to Japan, I spent time in Central Asia, the Balkans, and Latin America.
Let’s connect if our paths cross!

What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm neat and tidy, and I pack light. I'm always happy to help out around the house, whether that's cooking, doing dishes, or helping with other chores.
also love animals. At my mom’s house, we have a small dog who I miss a lot while traveling, so I’m always happy to spend time with pets if you have any!
I'm also up for language exchange for English, Mandarin, and Spanish (and soon Japanese!)
