About Me

UPDATE: Setting up camp in New Mexico for a bit - running my little thrift store and hanging out at home, which it seems we are slowly turning into some kind of little farm, with the dogs, chickens, goats, and now llamas ;)

CURRENT MISSION: To Live as Green and Sustainable as my life allows.

Working on starting the second half of life and trying hard to move towards a more Green and Sustainable lifestyle. Trying to do more traveling now that my life is my own again.

I like to be as adventurous as I can at my age; to be a traveler and be non-judgemental.

PHILOSOPHY

"Adventure is nothing more than inconvenience and discomfort recollected in tranquility."

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather ......... to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW -- What A Ride!"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think this is just beyond awesome! I fell in love with the idea the first time I heard about it. Although I hope to have lots of surfing in my future, I mostly do hosting for now and am just enjoying meeting all of the awesome people coming through here :)

Interests

I love being outside, working or playing. Hiking, biking, walking the dogs.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: Moody Blues, Rodriguez, Squeeze, Marianne Faithful - not much I don't like in the way of music.
BOOKS: Historical fiction books.
MOVIES: Big, Shawshank Redemption, documentaries!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the new millennium arrive from the hillside of the Annapurna mountains. Lots of folks peppering the mountainside with their flashlights turned to the sky at midnight! Truly magical!
And skydiving, that was fun back in the day :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Willing to share whatever measly knowledge I might dig up in my head ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A place to crash at the least - the rest all depends on the timing. I love to hear about your couchsurfing and travel experiences!

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, England, France, Greece, Iceland, India, Ireland, Laos, Mexico, Nepal, Peru, Singapore, Spain, Thailand
