I have lived in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of VA most of my life. I decided to join Peace Corps about 3 years ago, and life has been an amazing adventure since. Once I decided on Peace Corps, I sold everything and moved to the Big Island of Hawaii for 9 months while I was waiting to go. I finished my service in Uganda last September, went back to the Big Island for the winter, and have now decided to settle in Eugene, Oregon.

I've hosted couchsurfers in Uganda and always thought it was a great way to travel. I'm now looking at retrieving some of my stuff that's been in storage in VA and drag it to OR. My son and I are going to be driving cross country the first week in May and I would love to connect with some other couch surfers on the way.

Haven't been watching much TV the last few years. I am a musician and tend to love rock and roll and blues. Have developed a love for Kirtan music lately as well.
I read a bunch while in Peace Corps, and got to cover some of the classics, East of Eden and Picture of Dorian Grey were two of my favorites. I love spiritually based books that help us open and grow as well. Adya Shanti and Pema Chodron are two of my favorite authors.

An ongoing theme in my life has been to continue to grow and live in conscious community. It's tough to find peace in a world that seems so chaotic and broken. Learning to turn inward and find connection to what's beyond the surface of circumstances is a great gift in making life a little gentler, and not so hard to find.
