The outdoors are where it's at! Fortunately, I found work where I get to hang out in a forest by a lake all day. Living in Toronto, when I'm not working, I'll often be biking around the city, enjoying a pint at a pub, or taking in live music somewhere.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, surfing, and meeting up with people randomly! Mostly I've been hosting and living vicariously through my traveling guests... the 9-5 life leaves little time for substantial travel of my own... sigh..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed with great friends years before joining CS! Been on CS for a while, but have moved apartments muchly, and roommates haven't always been amenable to surfers. Now that my apartment can host, am excited to host and meet traveling souls! I loved meeting CS folk while traveling out west this summer!

Interessen

I love outdoor pursuits! Canoeing, camping, hiking, climbing trees! And recently I've gotten into geocaching - a great way to explore outdoor spaces!

Also a fan of singing and playing the guitar (although the latter I do just barely well enough to sing along to!).

A few years ago, spent some time in Costa Rica, and fell in love with the world of entomology! Hope this doesn't scare anyone off! Insects are just so cool!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Right on the top of my list is seeing the sun rise over the Bay of Fundy in the east coast of Canada. It was the off season so there was noone else there, and adding to the event was the phenomenon of the quickly changing tide. As the sun was rising it was reflecting off a blanket of cloud hovering over the bay, and the oranges and reds and yellows were reflected in the water. Spent at least an hour marveling at the beauty!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Most of the native bee species in Canada are solitary and don't sting (well, they can, but not having a colonial nest to protect, they can't be bothered). Most Canadians don't know this.
