About Me

Hello! My name is Raymundo Ríos, a Mexican Chef. After 8 years working in restaurants I decided to leave my life behind, I took my bike and got the cheapest plain ticket I could find to Europe.

I started bike packing from Madrid three months ago and as any big adventure nothing has happen as planned. I met a gardener that planted 200 varieties of tomatoes in his garde in Spain, I went to Cognac to cook crêpes a l’ortie, I helped in apiary for one week, wrote some pages of my cooking book in the office of the best ciclo editorial in Italy and intentionally lost my flight only to keep pedaling my way back to México.

I love cooking, so I focus my travels on tasting the regional food and drinks, and in discovering new recipes and flavors. I gather all the recipes that people cook when they invite me for dinner and that I cook, and I would love to publish my own cooking book at the end of my travels.

I also use Warmshowers, which is a community like Couchsurfing but for cyclists. This is my profile.. https://www.warmshowers.org/user/225765

If I host you or you host me, I'd be really happy to cook for you.

I love tortillas, I'm the guy with the red hat that is grinding the corn to make tortillas in this video(0:58): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qCWSGsBjFU
