About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finish my undergrad degree and enjoy the vibrancy of life! I'm also always trying to connect with Spanish speakers, so if you know any let's practice. Generally working on my languages.

ABOUT ME

For ten years I grew up in the sheltered suburbia of West Ottawa. It wasn't until I left home for six months when I was seventeen that I really started to explore new realities and realize my interest in low cost/unconventional travel and the fun of exploring this world we live in. I joined a volunteer program called Katimavik when I left at 17 and I discovered myself in a way that I never would have if I'd stayed in Ottawa. Since my awakening I'm always trying to seek out new opportunities and I find myself having difficulty staying put. I've come to discover that I'm a hyper social person that needs a lot of diversity in their life. Routine drives me crazy and I think it's possible I was born a few decades late.

I have an open ear for travellers of the like. Let's swap stories.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life with variety.

Not something that I would say I live by, but has changed and affected a great deal of my philosophies is the book, "The Tao of Pooh." Definitely worth the read.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed in New Zealand, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, hung out with friends who are hosts with their guests, and I also hosted when I lived in my own house a few years ago. I'm not sure when I will be able to host again, hopefully soon, so likely experiences in the near future will be me asking to stay with you!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The friend who introduced me to couchsurfing would invite me over to hang out with her participants. That was my first interaction with the project.
After that I became more involved because of my travels in New Zealand. I've stayed with some great hosts and met other interesting travelers along the way.
A few years ago I had a big house so I was lucky enough to host while I was in university and experience the flip side. It's cool getting the whole spectrum and I've had positive experiences.
Excited to be the traveler again!

Interests

Games games gamesl! I love games.

Otherwise your run of the mill standard fare, drinking, hanging out with friends, camping and spending time outside to disconnect from our fast-paced interlinked world. I like to try new things too, so I'm always down for new activities and pass times. I like to dance on occasion as well. Karaoke is a passion of mine, I can't lie.
Live music is hard to go wrong with.

Essentially I have the brain of a child, I like to play around and just be like a kid.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know some pretty sweet large group games. Unfortunately I'm not usually in a large willing group but if I'm able I will show you how to play picture telephone, hilarious game!!!

I also have a deck of Dutch Blitz... Ideal for 4 players but possible with 2 or 3.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to cook. If I am only cooking for myself I tend to be lazy about it, so I prefer cooking and sharing food with company. Always looking to build up my repertoire as well, let's trade secrets.

I'm also a storyteller, I have a great memory for details of things that have happened in the past and like to tell people stories about my life or things I know of. However be warned, I do talk a lot and some stories may seem endless.

I also know lots of little brain teasers and riddles, I sort of have a mental collection rolling around in my head. There might be a few old card tricks too.
