ABOUT ME
I was born in Moscow, immigrated to the UK when I was 18. I come from a Ukrainian family. I love traveling, meet people who change you and rock'n'roll
PHILOSOPHY
experiences over possessions
always act towards other people as you want the people to act towards you
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think it is a great way of meeting people. It is a great way to travel and get to know the locals and the place you are visiting.
It was my university friend who introduced me to couchsurfing. She is an avid participant and though for a couple of years I was sceptical about the site, now I like it more and more.

In the first documentaries one of the travellers says that she often has problems to communicate with people in everyday life, when couchsurfing gives an opportunity for real interaction. Another traveller mentions that it's the association to couchsurfing, which connects people. I can relate to the first statement and agree with the second one, often I think it's the sense of wander and cultural exchange that makes your communication interesting as well as enthusiasm. The main idea behind couch surfing is the ancient host - guest relationship which brings out the traditions out of the people's cultures and their personalities in such encounters. One of the hosts describes the couchsurfing website as a 'social catalyst'.

Music, Movies, and Books
I tried organising my music collection once
Jacobs Ladder and Enter the Void. Soviet family classics, some British films.
I read Welsh, Thompson, Hollebecq, Camus, Roberts, zines. Omar Khayam was a mind bending discovery.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jumped into a lake on a glacier in the volcanoes of Kamchatka. The water there is below zero and doesn't freeze. This is definitely something that I will remember for the rest of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd like to learn Italian.
I can teach some Russian and oh boy it is a complicated language, phonetically and grammatically and in terms of vocabulary and many exceptions from the rules.
The Eastern part of my soul loves sharing. Food, wine, walks, knowledge, etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Knowledge about the place I live in, good mood and food. I like cooking and communal meals.
