Overview
About Me
Traveling artist. I see art as a way to challenge the way we see the world around us and creativity as fundamental to how we connect with others.
What else...A literary old soul with a foul mouth. An animal lover. A hiker, climber, and bottomless pit. Headstrong, inquisitive, and idealistic. Playful and pensive. A lucky ass human being.

Music, Movies, and Books
Everyone should read The Phantom Tollbooth. It's a children's book with the depth and substance to be appreciated by any age and is an adventure built around the pursuit of learning.
My favorite quote from this book: "...for one of the nicest things about mathematics, or anything else you might care to learn, is that many of the things which can never be, often are. You see it's very much like your trying to reach Infinity. You know that it's there, but you just don't know where-but just because you can never reach it doesn't mean that it's not worth looking for. "
Other favorite books: Animal Farm, Book of Embraces, The Culture Code, Good to Great, The Metamorphosis, El Pájaro de la India, Little Nemo in Slumberland, The Little Prince, Maus, My Life on the Road (Gloria Steinem), Persepolis
Movies: The Birds, The Great Dictator, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, Up, Vertigo
Music: Billie Holiday, Bon Iver, The Cranberries, Dessa, Ella Fitzgerald, Glen Hansard, James Blake, Marketa Irglova, T. Rex
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Polar Bear Plunge four times in 2 states and 2 countries. Only almost died the second time.
Teach, Learn, Share
Whoever can teach me how to not trip on sidewalks will be my hero. In exchange, I can teach you how to make pie crust, the proper way to crack an egg, and how to carve and print woodblocks.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to cook with people and am fairly good at identifying bird species.
