Two adventures a week!
Maybe I'm just going to be someone who moves every 3-5 years for the rest of my life? In 2006, I thought to myself, "Ok, I'm 23, I haven't lived anywhere for more than 4 months since finishing high school, maybe it's time to settle down." So I channelled my inner entrepreneur and started a Massage Therapy practice, what an adventure! After 3 years though, the stomping of time going by was getting louder again, and I felt marooned in a small-town, out-of-the-way corner of the world. I closed my practice, sold my car, gave away my cat, and put the rest in storage. I spent 3 years in love the feeling of going with the flow, disentangling my roots from the riverbank and just trusting. Burning Man, a welding and trades course for women in the mountains of British Columbia, squatting in New Orleans with a bunch of punks, floating through San Francisco for 6 weeks, 2 months in Mexico in a big crazy art hippy jungle house with 15 other people and at a yoga retreat centre, 6 unforgettable months in the far north of Canada, 5 months hiking the backcountry of New Zealand with my brother, an 8-month roadtrip down the west coast and around the outer edge of North America in my silly wonderful 1979 Dodge van. Sheer force of will carried us home, and I'm back on PEI to reconnect with the things I love here, and learn about myself and the world in the ways I can't do when I'm in a state of constant motion, while still maintaining that feeling of fluidity in my day-to-day.
In an attempt to gather up all the moments and explain what it has meant to me so far, I've made a powerpoint presentation, that I'm always happy to share!

Spontaneity is the essence of pleasure. -Germain Greer
I believe the only two things any humans owe each other are honesty and respect. Everything else starts from that foundation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I had an apartment in PEI for 3 years, I hosted over 100 people from all over the world. I know how amazing it is to have gems of experience when travelling, and I get the same pleasure from being able to provide other people with the same thing, to hope that my guests will remember the time they spend with me for a long time!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I walked 930 km across northern Spain on the Camino de Santiago, on a whim, with my dear friend Emily. Once when I felt that I needed to challenge my comfort zone, I participated in a short shorts contest at a very seedy bar. But didn't win. I show movies in my backyard every week in the summer. I go swimming outdoors every Nov 1, once on the same day as people were skating on the same body of water, just a few km away. I hiked almost 700km of NZ trails with my younger brother over 5 months, living out of a 1990 VW Golf. I touched a juvenile gray whale in the wild, and hitched a lift with an octopus fisherman to spend the night on a desert island in the Sea of Cortez. I walked across a frozen lake to a houseboat party in -40, with the Aurora Borealis sparkling above.
