CURRENT MISSION Hosting those affected by the Japanese earthquake ABOUT ME I'd like to help Japanese citizens who are having a hard time getting back by hosting for a few days. I play outdoor volleyball very often and sometimes we're short 1 person for 2-on-2. If you're an experienced sand or grass volleyball player, it'll be hard to say "no" to your request. At night I wear 2xist boxers and fight international narco-trafficking. (I wish.) During the day I split my time between beach volleyball, working on my book, and getting distracted from working on my book. Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Been busy so haven't been involved lately. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE My first host was Eric when I traveled to Tokyo in 2009. I stayed with him for almost a week and had an amazing time. My philosophy of couchsurfing is that I want to make my host feel special and constantly show my appreciation, not just in words but in actions. I surprised him with an anti-hangover breakfast one morning. I left things looking better in his apartment. Not only did he let me into his home, he spent time showing me around the city. The experience with him and the accomodation was invaluable. I feel the very least I could do was to take him out for dinner to show him how much I appreciate his generosity. I could easily have spent over $200 at a hostel for the amount of days I stayed with him. Instead, I used the money I saved and spent a fraction of that on my host. I believe in giving back even more than what was given to me.
