ABOUT ME
Me... You know, as much as I'd think that I'd know me after 28 years of being me, I don't know me as well as I should know me.
For starters, I'm an Aspie. Moving on from that, I'm a gamer geek with a humorous streak a mile wide. When I was in Japan, I loved to see the country through hitchhiking. Back when I studied at Sapporo University for eight months, I was told that it was the ONLY way to see Japan. I fully agree. Nothing beats the people and the places that you can see on the back roads.
Now, I'm back in Indiana again and just trying to find what I should be doing next.
PHILOSOPHY
Personally, I believe in sitting back and letting life happen to me. And then laughing about things when they don't go as expected. Without laughter, there's no way I would have made it this far in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Well, the best adventure I've ever been on was when I went hitchhiking from Tokyo back up to Sapporo (when I lived there). I ended up staying with a friend of an email-buddy for a night in Tokyo. Then, on the way back, I stayed in little, out of the way youth hostels around the countryside. It ended up being far easier to hitchhike than I ever thought possible. My first ride came along in less than a minute, and they only stopped to take me 3 blocks to a better road. *Laugh* Then THEY flagged down my next ride as I was getting my stuff out of their car. By the time I was ready to switch cars, my old ride had negotiated how far the new ride would take me!
It ended up becoming a pattern. Old ride would find me a new ride before I even had my bag and sleeping bag out of their car. They even would offer to PAY for my room for the night, though I declined.
Now, I tend to settle for little weekend excursions of hitchhiking when the urge hits me.

Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you exactly how to hitchhike in Japan, or I could teach you how to cook a good burger.
