About Me

____________________________________________________

~MY PROFILE~
____________________________________________________

Favourite methods of transport: four wheels and a thumb, two wheels and a saddle, or no wheels and a paddle

Favourite times of day: a sunny winter morning or a breezy summer evening

Favourite places to sleep: in the wild under the stars, gently rocking in a hammock, snuggled under lots of blankets and duvets—or all three at once

Favourite things to watch or listen to: steel pans, flickering flames and shimmering shorelines, a chanting crowd, deep dramatic thunder and heavy rainfall (as long as I'm under something dry!)

Favourite sensations: a deep meaningful hug, a hot and powerful shower, jumping into the sea on a baking hot day, taking shoes off after a long walk, the dreamy haze just before sleep, the first taste of an ice cream

The impression someone gives you depends on where you both are in the world, and where you are in your lives.
Sometimes these things align just right, and sometimes you miss the right moment to meet. So how I appear to you today will be different from tomorrow, or a week from now.
The best way to find out about me is to meet me in person—so let's meet!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Cities are built FOR activity, not to BE an activity! Travelling is often most enriching by doing fun things with fun people with the city as a nice background.

Having said that, as an architecture student, I appreciate the hell out of a city's history, future, culture, and of course, its architecture! So sightseeing has become an interest of mine once again: what makes a city THAT city, and not another? How does the city make you feel? How do people live there?

As for accommodation: even the most luxurious hotel room—with soft bedding and 24 hour room service, a jacuzzi and a spectacular view—cannot always beat a simple, honest sofa and excellent company.

The two methods of travel can coexist as different sides of the same, wonderful coin.

I always prefer to use couchsurfing a bit spontaneously, when I have a good feeling from someone's profile or when something fun is going on. Undoubtedly, the best experiences come from this approach.

But, yes, I have also used couchsurfing when I crave a real bed (or couch!) and a hot shower, when I need some moments in a real house to thaw out and feel normal again. If you have travelled hard, you will appreciate that a bed and a shower is a luxury.
This website is as much about cultural exchange as it is about generosity; it's great to give to someone in need, without expecting anything return, and so that's what I do when I host. Just be honest about what you need!

Interests

Can you make a pen from scratch? Build a car from raw materials?
We depend so much on industry to survive. I want to sew the clothes on my back, grow the food I eat, carve the table I work on, build the home I live in.
I want to speak as many languages and with as many people as possible, to show the world how I see the world with paints and pens, to turn my passion into sound and music, to understand what my body needs, to defend myself if I'm in danger (although the best defense is not to be there in the first place).
To use my capability to help others—to live, to learn, to flourish.
To be a part of nature—not just a civilised onlooker.
To love life—and appreciate the unhappy moments as much as the happy ones.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything with a tight script, great cinematography and real characters.
I'm into trip-hop, electronica, bossa nova, and still discovering what I like.
I love film and literature, but the best stories are our own. Your life is the greatest show on earth!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Fasting in France for four days, and cycling 120km on the first day. I broke the fast with a croissant. I couldn't resist.

- Getting the hqng of q French keyboqrd1

- Scubadiving in the Andaman Sea

- Saving a house from burning down

- Planning my meals and shopping lists a year in advance

- In summer 2017 I embarked on a journey from Barcelona to Beijing by bicycle with a good friend of mine. We only made it to Slovenia but was still an action-packed adventure!

Teach, Learn, Share

¡No hablo inglés!
Just kidding. I'm a walking, talking English dictionary. Ask me anything!

My cooking is not too shabby. I love food. I love discovering new flavours, and getting other people to discover them too.
Please teach me your culinary secrets.

"Education does not change the world; education changes the people that will one day change the world."
