Hi! I’m Riccardo, and I’m from Lake Como, Italy.

After three years in Paris as a software engineer, I spent last year traveling through Eastern Europe and Asia, experiencing different ways of living and seeing the world. Along the way, I took part in a few volunteering programs: permaculture farms, teaching English to kids, cleaning beaches from trash, and in general trying to give a hand to the local community. While doing this, I received much more than what I gave away.

I came back to Italy for Christmas, and I would like to spend more time at home, with my family and my friends, trying to strenghten the local community, at the same time keeping it open to travelers who want to visit my city.

I can't wait to find a stable place in my hometown, so that I can start hosting surfers and giving back to this amazing community!

I love mountains and nature in general; I feel at home whenever I’m surrounded by vast stretches of greenery, meadows, and trees. I grew up in the Alps, and hiking is just part of my routine.

I value all kinds of artistic expression, and I enjoy writing and composing music myself. I’m happy when people share what they’ve created, whether it’s a song, a painting, or anything else they value.

I find the deepest meaning in spirituality. I was raised Catholic, and I’m trying to reconcile the Christian view of the world with the scientific and then post-modern mindset I found my self growing up with. I respect and admire all religions and forms of spirituality, and I try to learn as much as I can from what other people believe and teach me.

I aim to build genuine connections, based on spontaneity, lightness and respect.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

It's the best way to get to know a place and its people. I always find so much richness in exploring a place through the eyes of a local instead of just staying in a hostel with other international people. That can be fun too, but it's a completely different experience. I am very grateful for all the unique experiences Couchsurfing has given me and I can't wait to start hosting people myself.

I am a big language enthusiast! I can share knowledge of the few languages I know, and I'm eager to learn new ones. I'm also happy to share anything about my culture or about whatever may interest you: hiking, history, literature, music, etc.
I play guitar, sing and write songs - just for fun and without too much formal musical training, so I can either teach or learn depending on your level.
