Overview
About Me
Vipassana meditation, ashtanga yoga, and psychedelic therapy have all changed my life. I wake up early to meditate and practice/teach yoga, and would join you for music or a festival (if we can find one, Cambridge is small).
I grew up in Australia as a Singaporean-British third culture kid, spent my early 20s traveling and soul-searching mostly in Asia, then late 20s worked at Airbnb in San Francisco (inspired by CS!). Now in my 30s I'm finishing a PhD in psychiatric neuroscience.
I am generally calm and reflectively cheerful. I appreciate good coffee and tea.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I had great experiences as a couchsurfing guest about ten years ago, and now I'm finally in a position to offer my home to others. I live alone now so it's always nice to meet travelers and swap stories.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - psytrance, house, melodic techno, not dnb. Classical and general spiritual atmospheric stuff is all great.
Books - Hermann Hesse, Iain Banks, Cixin Liu, Richard Bach, Kierkegaard ... there are many books.
Movies - I rarely watch movies but Dune is amazing?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling a month in Tibet, after hiking through snow to touch the holy mountain Mt Kailash then sleeping at 5500m at the China-side Everest base camp, I ended up bedridden with fever for a week in a Kathmandu hotel ... the day I felt better I changed my plans and instead of continuing to India bought a same-day flight to Taiwan.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach ashtanga yoga, and can ramble a bit about neuroscience.
Countries I’ve Lived In
Australia, China, Singapore, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States
