About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Waiting for the right moment

ABOUT ME

My passion in life is adventure, and it is best when experienced with others.

I have romantic crushes on Iowa and the Pacific NW and I know Nebraska better than at least 99% of people here.

I've driven around this country extensively, but not so much in the south or east. Hoping to drive to Mexico sometime in the next year or two. Also hoping to do some extended raft trips.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Always great.

Interests

Science, electricity, the interplay of technology and evolution, brains, the future of humanity and the universe.
Philosophy, art, poop.
Weather.
Figuring out what liquor gives me the most appropriate drunkeness for the city I'm residing in.
I'm a sucker for new information and new experiences (especially ridiculous ones).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: The Microphones / Mount Eerie, Michael Hurley, Magnolia Electric Co, Modest Mouse...

Books: The Stones of Summer, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle...

Movies: Enter the Void, Leolo, Beasts of Southern Wilds, Heat, Requiem for a Dream, Forest Gump...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunset at Yumma Point in the Grand Canyon.
Stars and meteors in the Mojave Desert.
The wind, lightning, clouds and tornadoes of thunderstorms in the Nebraska countryside.
Certain people.

Teach, Learn, Share

Given the energy it takes to supply food, and the inefficiencies in the human body for turning that into locomotion, electric bicycles might be even more environmentally friendly than regular bicycles. (I have an electric bicycle and can tell you all about 'em)
