ABOUT ME

Greetings Couchsurfers!
My name is Robert, I am a young male student currently living in Guelph, a city in Southwest Ontario close to Toronto, in Canada. I am currently finishing a bachelor's degree in biological sciences.

I am a very open-minded and easy-going guy who enjoys doing a variety of activities. Above all, I love to meet people from different cultures and areas around the world! I also love to show my experiences and culture to others. My definition of "fun" is hard to describe, as I enjoy a variety of activities ranging from a quiet night in watching a movie or preparing a tasty meal, to going out for drinks and dancing the night away in the city centre. I enjoy helping others and making others happy, which makes me a very agreeable and easy-going person.

I can speak English and French fluently, and also have a beginner's level in Italian and Spanish. I'm also currently trying to learn basic Russian.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that the world is predominantly good, and full of predominantly good people; the media and government try to make us believe the contrary as I think that fear is the best manner of control.

I also believe strongly in equality for all, regardless of characteristics or beliefs. Diversity is the spice of life, and keeps the world so fascinating and full of life.

I live my life to discover. Each day I strive to learn something new, and I'd be the happiest man in the world if I were able to travel to new destinations and meet new people each and every day.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't ever done Couchsurfing before, but the idea intrigues me.
I currently live in Guelph in a shared rental house. I could occasionally provide a couch for one or two nights.
I love to travel around the world and would like to perhaps use Couchsurfing in the future during my travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I haven't been directly involved in any Couchsurfing events or experiences, but I have several friends who are active in it and have only ever had good things to say about it!

Música, películas y libros

Movies: I'm not a very big movie buff, but I do enjoy watching movies, particularly funny movies. Normally, I haven't heard of the movie you may be describing to me, but I'd love to watch it anyways!
Music: I enjoy indie/alternative/new-rock music, as well as the electronica genres: electro, house, dub-step, etc.

I lived in France for one year, and this I believe changed me and instilled many values and goals with me, which I am now using to shape my life.
I arrived in France all alone, with nothing more than a suitcase full of clothes. I was homeless for almost two weeks, and did not have any friends upon my arrival. From these meagre beginnings I was able to thrive and experience an unforgettably lifestyle which was uncomparable to anything I have done thus far.

I can teach and discuss about basic historical and political aspects of Canada. I can also teach recipes for meals/beverages (but nothing too complicated!), and provide assistance in English and French language skills.

I would like learning about various cultures and world events. I also would like to learn more about the Italian and Russian languages, particularly the grammar!!
