About Me

I used to be an accountant in Australia...but it was lacking adventure. Three years ago I gave that away to chase a dream of snowboarding every day in Canada. This lead me to spending the last two and a half years following adventure and good vibes through parts of Africa, North, Central and South America. Now I am coming back to the US to celebrate the wedding of my cousin and his amazing partner...not sure what will be next!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to have fun, meet people from different places and learn about them. I used to play in touring bands in Australia so I have been hosted many times, and hosted other musicians at my house more times than I can remember. I love the idea of sharing hospitality and giving people a different experience to the usual hostel/hotel. And the idea that if you aren't travelling hosting is a way to bring the travel to you really sits well with me.

Interests

I like the outdoors, sharing travel stories, cheap meals & laughs. People watching when the budget is tight and the weather is right. I love hiking and anything to do with water...jumping off stuff, snorkelling, anything fun!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have travelled the entire way from the Arctic Ocean to Bolivia without taking any flights. At one point during a mountaineering expedition I was the human being closest to the sun, and the furthest away from the centre of the earth. I lived the first five years of my life on a yacht with my parents sailing around Australia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am also a gardener, and pretty good with tools and getting stuff done. I would love to help out around the house so if you have a project or some small jobs we can work on them together! If there is something cool to do around you area I am probably more than happy to pay your entry, gas etc. if you would like to come with me. I would also be more than happy to offer you a meal cooked at your place or some street food and of course a beer/some wine. I can't stand "freeloader" guests and love to share what I can.
