Overview
About Me
Originally from Chile, but I’ve been living here and there since I left my country in 2008. Since 2019, I’ve been living in Da Nang, Vietnam — the place I call home at the moment.
CURRENT MISSION
Go everywhere! see as much as I can while learning from different people, cultures and ways of living and trying to reach the best version of myself
PHILOSOPHY
Just a couple of my favorite sayings:
Don't let people tell you what it's going on in the world, go and see it by yourself
I'm the type of person who usually chooses to know the ugly truth rather than the pretty lie
Variety is the spice of life/En la variedad esta el gusto
Discussions/debates lead to knowledge
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet different types of people from all kinds of backgrounds, to widen my knowledge, and for the fun of it.
And as a way to get to know the locals and their way of living, discover the places locals really go to, and get an insider view of what to do, see, and avoid while traveling.
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By couchsurfing, hosting and joining some meet ups
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started using CS back in 2008. I have hosted, csurfed and met people through it.
So far so good, I find it very useful and a good way to meet like minded people and make travels easier.
Interests
I love sports, both watching and playing them. I used to be really into football and tennis, but in the last few years I started playing pickleball (in case you’ve heard of it), and this one has become my main sport — you could even say my second job, as I am now teaching and coaching people in the sport.
Who said food? Since I was a kid, I’ve loved cooking and gastronomy TV shows, and I really enjoy talking about food, trying new dishes and ingredients, and going out for dinner. I would try pretty much anything at least once (still talking about food :p).
I’m really interested in society and the way we, as human beings, are living today and used to live. I’m convinced we could do much better than we are doing today.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love cinema, but I don’t really watch movies on a regular basis anymore. I used to kind of force myself to do it. I like realism in movies; I’m not so much into the fantasy genre. I like it when a movie keeps you thinking about it for days.
Some from my looong list of favorites:
Midnight Express, Requiem for a Dream, Memento, El secreto de sus ojos, Good Will Hunting, The Matrix, Tropa de Elite 2, Incendies, Se7en, Das Experiment, Oldboy, City of God…
My music taste is pretty random, I like 80' 90' pop/rock/grunge, electronic, some latin rock, even a bit of classic music but lately I just get stuck with songs more than bands or singers
I like reading non fiction books, travelblogs and news.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
At some point I jumped onto the stage of a ferry at 8am somewhere in the Java Sea to sing karaoke. I was the only foreigner on board and everyone started screaming “mister, mister” and pointing at me. There were only 2–3 English songs (none I knew), so after some Spanish ones I ended up singing a totally random Indonesian song I’d never heard before. Everyone was laughing… including me.
I’ve also jumped out of a plane in New Zealand, done a 3-day boat trip through the rivers of Borneo surrounded by jungle and orangutans, and climbed Mount Rinjani in Lombok.
When I was 18, I walked all the way up to Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. In Pai, Thailand, after a long night out, we sneaked into some hot pools at 5am, had the place to ourselves, watched the sunrise in total silence, finished with a mud bath… and then there was me running around the forest covered in mud like a caveman.
I’ve seen the Taj Mahal, done plenty of motorbike trips around Southeast Asia, hiked the Dragon’s Backbone at the Longji Rice Terraces in Chins, and once climbed Mount Fuji on a very tight schedule — up and down in just a few hours.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m always willing to help whoever wants to improve or would like to learn Spanish or English.
I’m happy to talk about life and travel experiences and give some tips about the places I’ve been to.
Photography, video making, the Italian language, and yoga are on my list of things I want to learn and/or get more into… so hopefully I come across some expert Couchsurfers in those areas.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A free pickleball lesson, help with Spanish and/or English, and plenty of travel tips — especially around Southeast and East Asia.
