Hi travellers, I'm Roland. Nice to meet you! Meeting people from all over the world is a passion of mine. I live in Unterseen, which is a part of the scenic town of Interlaken, well-known for adventure sports, beautiful mountains and two lakes. I work as the CEO of the local Bank EKI and I‘m also a board member of the public hospital group in our area.

My wife Ursula and I, we have three grown-up kids who moved out, but often spend weekends home. We live in Unterseen/Interlaken for more than 25 years and know the town and the surrounding area pretty well. We like to share our knowledge with travellers. We also like all kinds of sports, so if you plan to go hiking or running, or skiing (winter), or swimming (summer), just let us know.

Meeting people from other countries and having a good, relaxed time. Staying with locals is probably the best way to explore a country.

Books: I read the Bible. Other books that changed the way I think: Atomic Habits by James Clear, Why we sleep by Matthew Walker, and The Art of the Good Life by Rolf Dobelli. I also like reading biographies, novels by Ken Follett or Tom Clancy, and books about political/economic topics.
