Overview
About Me
Hi ! I’m Romain ! French used to be engineer, became school teacher, and now taking another break in scheduled life to achieve one of my biggest dream of all time : traveling from Europe to Asia back and forth.
This time I don’t’ want to rush things, this is to be a slow travel, with as less things planned ahead as necessary, keeping my liberty of action, to be able to seize the right opportunity when it occurs and to actually meet the people along the way instead of just crossing them.
Of course the experience couldn’t be complete without trying to use CS again. This app had been so essential for me in my last travels and that’s the people I’ve met there that definitely made my journey a memorable one.
So here I am again, trying to reach awesome people that are willing to become a part of my little adventure and invite me in theirs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people who are willing to share a good laugh, a part of their journey or maybe just a glimpse of their daily life. And because I'm deeply convinced that the best way to travel a land is to encounter its people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Sadly I’m one of these people who really sucks at remembering names of celebrities, movie makers, musicians, authors and singers alike so I won’t give many titles here.
• MUSIC : I’m listening to a fairly wide range of music from good old rock to modern French and Japanese rap, with a little touch of reggae and jazz music, as well as various indie pop songs, with a special mention for those mixed with eastern vibes.
• MOVIES : I love historical fictions, deep atmospherical movies, which ain’t afraid to go for the bad endings and more light headed comedy as well. From time to time, I also don’t mind going for the more popular no-brainer blockbusters with my friends. I don’t watch that much series but I’m very fond of Japanese anime since I was first introduced to it as a child with the fantastic work from Hayao Miyazaki.
• BOOKS : In fact I can’t really say what is my type of book. Lately I have been choosing my readings amongst classic literature, fantasy novels and essays alike. This time I also brought a few books about traveling and living the nomadic lifestyle to give me some inspiration on the way.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The day I became a school teacher and was brought in front of a class. It was quite the trial by fire. Never did I experience something so challenging and yet so fulfilling.
