try and find someone with an excellent mission (not sure i trust my own)
i moved to berlin in 2009 and have been living there most of the time, with some time back in Melbourne as well. i studied art, english and philosophy at university ... and i am now writing an MA thesis on humour theory...
i perform stand-up comedy, and wrote a full length show for the edinburgh fringe festival called
"berlin for beginners"
... it featured couchsurfing tales!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
couchsurfing is great because it disrupts the ideas of isolation that our society promotes.
i am not broke (yet...) and if being hosted will engage in the spirit of generosity by cooking, bringing a bottle(s) of wine, contributing how i can...
surfed in greece and turkey with pleasure.
am yet to host (have had a few strange living situations that haven't been so great for couchsurfing BUT am moving into a great place for summer when i hope to finally open my doors to you.
film, humour, health food (but not fanatically) weathered elderly people, very tiny objects, human experience, feathers... many things
- performing arts
Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: cat power, portishead, the magnetic fields, piaf, all kinds of jazz, instrumental, electro... if it's a good party, just about anything
FILMS: herzog/hugh grant
BOOKS: experimental writing and poetry, kafka, hesse, proust, kathy acker, chekov, .... actually for a literature student i haven't read many books. sigh. buying books to put on my bookshelf sometimes makes me feel better.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
moving to berlin when i was 21 was pretty wild
Teach, Learn, Share
i am pretty good with knowing the names of flowers in your garden, even the odd ones that you might not know. and like to think that i cook well, especially vietnamese.
