About Me

CURRENT MISSION

take it easy, but take it

ABOUT ME
my profile is a bit out of date, but this is what it looked like in 2010.

i am a flame haired, kilt-wearing, haggis eating, stereotype-fulfilling scotsman. my favourite colour is that of red wine, which brings me round to my favourite pastime. j'aime la musique, and i'm a left-winger on the football pitch and the political spectrum. i'm also a referee. i also really like foreign languages even though i can't really speak any. i like to try though. this is what beer is for. i am an avid drinker of buckfast, without which no visit to scotland is complete.

PHILOSOPHY

the philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways. the point, however, is to change it.

we were brought up on the space race, now they expect us to clean toilets. when you've seen how big the world is, how can you make do with this?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i host, i surf

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

have been on the site since 2007, been up and down the west coast of north america, currently seeing a bit of australia/nz, and i regularly stop off in places dotted around the european ryanair network. i rarely have any money so this is usually done on the cheap. hosting is just as fun, edinburgh is a great wee city and folk tend to enjoy it

Interests

i'm interested in people, culture, awkward situations, indie pop sensibilities, 4-3-3, the french revolution, nuclear weapons, being outside, swimming in the loch. despite being from a miserably wet and windy country i am interested in lovely beautiful warm weather. i am interested in actually being able to see the stars and planets at night and i want a telescope.
