Overview
About Me
I’m pursuing a PhD in Economics at Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research in Mumbai, an advanced research institute of Reserve Bank of India.
A passionate traveller and avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, I find joy in exploring and experiencing new places. I could easily spend months on the road, with just a good book and a backpack as my companions. Running, Sufi music, and discovering new cultures also fuel my spirit.
Couchsurfing, to me, is the perfect blend of travel and human connection. It’s a great way to learn about different places, cultures, and perspectives.
Having grown up across various regions of India—Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, and now Mumbai— for my academic pursuits, my experiences have shaped my outlook on life. Studying at the Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, an institution founded by Swami Vivekananda, has left a lasting impact on me.
My philosophy: Live and Let Live.
I’m excited to meet fellow travellers, share stories, and have enriching conversations. Let's connect!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing provides a unique opportunity to connect with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, share meaningful experiences, and explore new places through the eyes of locals. It’s not just about travelling—it’s about building connections that enrich our understanding of the world.
I believe Couchsurfing embodies the ancient Indian philosophy of "वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्" (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam), meaning "The world is one family," a timeless verse from the Maha Upanishad. This resonates deeply with me, as I see Couchsurfing as a platform that brings us all closer, regardless of borders.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy Indian Classical Music, Sufi Songs, and Ghazals—they're my go-to for relaxation and inspiration. When it comes to movies and books, it’s difficult to choose favourites because the list is long. For books, I keep track of my recent reads and reviews on Goodreads (www.goodreads.com/rrajatkr), where you can follow my literary journey.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have completed one 21k and several 10k races, pushing through both physical and mental challenges. It was not just a test of endurance, but a journey of self-discovery and resilience. Along with balancing my Ph.D. research and personal growth, this achievement reminded me that even in the face of life's struggles, you can always keep moving forward, one step at a time.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe in the philosophy, "As Long as I Live, so long do I learn" I’m always open to discussions on a wide range of topics that spark mutual interest. I can also help you with learning languages like Hindi, Bangla, and English.
Let’s meet and see where our conversations take us!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A clean, comfortable place to stay and a welcoming atmosphere. If my schedule allows, I’d be happy to be your local guide and show you around. I enjoy sharing stories and exchanging ideas over a cup of tea or coffee!
