I’m half of a gay couple from South Africa, currently living in Calgary, Canada. I have a background in business and IT and my partner Cam is a medical doctor. We enjoy meeting interesting people and experiencing how the locals live while we travel.

As a means to meet people and make friends. To learn more about places I want to visit, and to be informed about why it would be great to visit places I have never considered before. To connect with fellow travelers.

兴趣

I like to be active. I enjoy swimming, hiking, weight training, running, etc. Also into art, architecture, history, reading fiction and non-fiction, watching movies and tv-series, traveling, gardening, meeting new people, entertaining friends, enjoying good food and, very importantly, enjoying good wine ;).

音乐、电影和书籍

I like most kinds of music from classical through to alternative, rock and pop. Love Beethoven, Nirvana and Lady Gaga ... lol. I read a lot, fiction and non-fiction. I love Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett's books and am on a mission to read all the world's great classic works. I'm very much into sci-fi movies and tv-series, but also dramas, thrillers and more. My favorite movie of all was The Shawshank Redemption.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Can you really put down only one thing? Ran the Comrades Ultramarathon and finished it several times. Bungi-jumped off the Bloukrans Bridge in Eastern Cape, the Highest in Southern Hemisphere. Visiting the Victoria Falls was a highlight of my life, as was scuba diving and snorkeling the coral reefs off Mozambique and Zanzibar. New Year's in Rio was amazing too!

To learn about other people and their cultures and also their opinions on various places and issues. Also to teach a little about my own culture and history and to generally share good times with our friends where possible, enjoying meals together, going for drinks, or just chatting until late.

We can't host people at the moment since our place is too small, but if you are traveling to Calgary we would love to meet and hang out. I could show you around or give great advice on where to go and what to do.

We enjoy sharing knowledge about our Country, South Africa. I’ve travelled extensively in SA and can try to help with information and advice.
