PHILOSOPHY

I feel lucky to be alive and to live in my body, and when my brain says, "Legs, move!" they do. That's a gift I'm hugely grateful for, because it enables me to "do good" in a fun way. But even if my body didn't work the way I wanted it to, I'm sure there would still be Something I could do to contribute to the well-being of my surroundings.

Because people need welcoming places to stay, including myself sometimes.

Intereses

Bicycles, trash, racial justice, eating what I find, gleaning, farming, economic justice, dumpster diving, basketball, hairy women, collectively-owned businesses, people different from me but open-minded, fixing things, swimming, climbing things, keeping democracy alive, anything mechanical but not necessarily mechanized, all kinds of weather, working outside, doing physical labor, being warm from the inside out...

Music: birdsongs, and wind in my ears when I'm biking
Movies: dusk falling, thunderstorms rolling in, stars at night
Books: whatever written material catches my eye when I'm out and about
Uhh.. not to be a smart ass, but I'm kind of illiterate when it comes to "culture".

Once I got to look into the eyes of the young 18-yr old paramilitary guys standing on the edge of their motorboat, wearing boots, camo, and M-16s while their commander put his foot on our boat to question the locals in our boat.
