I love to laugh, I crack a lot of jokes, my sense of humor is more along the lines of the British and their commonwealths. I curse a lot but I promise I'm friendly. I enjoy some beer, and/or a fine wine to unwind. I will do anything I can if it means helping someone else. I am very sarcastic. I'll probably be singing along to some music 75% of the time you see me. If I get upset, I stop getting upset and get happy instead.
I'm pretty much down to do anything as long as it probably won't kill me, and even then, I'll give it a whirl.
Laugh at yourself and at life. Not in the spirit of derision or whining self-pity, but as a remedy, a miracle drug, that will ease your pain, cure your depression, and help you to put in perspective that seemingly terrible defeat and worry with laughter at your predicaments, thus freeing your mind to think clearly toward the solution that is certain to come. Never take yourself too seriously. Laughter is the shortest distance between two people.
Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory unannounced, stray dogs that amble in, sniff around a bit and simply never leave. Our lives are measured by these.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We are so often caught up in our destination that we forget to appreciate the journey, especially the goodness of the people we meet on the way. Appreciation is a wonderful feeling, don't overlook it.
Surfing: I am probably the easiest guest in the world. I can figure out my way to your place, and I have loved every one of my hosts. I absolutely love the positivity and love from each host I have. I'm personable so I'l talk, I like to sing even if I'm horrible at it. The only thing that makes me difficult is that I don't know exactly when or exactly where I will be going.
Hosting: I've hosted over 60 people when I lived in Orlando and I have loved every one of my guests! Such great memories and I can't wait to be able to host again!
I surfed several hosts throughout Europe, one in Mexico and have hosted many in Orlando. It has been a blast and I love all the different cultures that come through my house,
I am an older soul with a thirst for adventure and abnormally comfortable stepping outside my comfort zone. I have the travel bug, I like to scuba dive longboard, relax at the dog park, go to the springs, wakeboard, go boating, go to the beach, fish, swim... I'm basically a true Floridian. Anything with the ocean or being in the sun and beautiful outdoors!
Music, Movies, and Books
Let's start with music...
-My favorite artist is Frank Sinatra
-My favorite band is Queen.
-I love listening to ALMOST all types of music that is uplifting or meaningful. None of that heavy metal angst stuff, it's just too negative for me.
-I enjoy: Electro Swing/Electro Funk, 90s, Alternative, Jazz, Classic Rock, Andrea Bocelli, Oldies, Irish Rock, Parodies, R&B, EDM... I love music, mainly positive and upbeat music.
Nahko and Medicine for the People, GRiZ, Gramatik, Umphreys McGee, Tame Impala, Parov Stelar, Caro Emerald, Caravan Palace, The String Cheese Incident, Moe, Dirty Heads... A few of my favorites
I'm a huge movie buff. Among my favorites, in no particular order but kinda ...Forrest Gump, Interstellar, Shawshank Redemption, Goodfellas, Groundhog Day, V for Vendetta, The Inbetweeners (both the show and the movie) Quentin Tarantino films, Christopher Nolan Films, Judd Apatow films... I watch a lot of comedies and thrillers.
How I Met Your Mother is the best show ever made and you're a bus wanker if you deny it. Also notable shows would be: Game of Thrones, Shameless, American Horror Story, Key & Peele, Tosh.0, Last Week Tonight, Cosmos
Favorite books... Fantasy, Political, Science/Philosophy
-Harry Potter of course
-Game Of Thrones
-The God Delusion

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-Climbed to the top of a crane for a picture in Reykjavik, Iceland.
-Traveled across Ukraine in the summer of 2014 when Russia was all crazy about invading, I even drank at an underground rebel bar thanks to my host.
-Ran with the bulls at San Fermin.
-Hitchhiked in France and Ireland
-Slept under the full moon in the Sahara
Teach, Learn, Share
-I love talking politics, space, philosophy and existentialism, human behavior, religion, etc. Generally just worldly issues that carry diverse opinions.
-I was in the U.S. Army for 3 years flying unmanned aircraft (Drones!), ask me anything ya wanna know! it's a unique experience!
- I like to discuss cultural differences and hear all about places that others have been to, so that I might visit one day.
-I'm a dog person, your dog will love me and I will love them. You will also love my dog.
-I would like to learn some popular dances from each country!
What I Can Share with Hosts
-My enthusiastic, yet mediocre singing abilities. I can sing many Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin songs, Queen songs, 90's songs, a few rap songs and I almost have "Con Te Partiro" by Andrea Boccelli down, although I don't speak Italian so give me some leeway!
-A delicious American-style breakfast if I have time to get the ingredients!
-A wealth of travel stories that only cost the price of sharing one of your own!
