We are Søren and Ksenia. We are a couple who enjoys traveling a lot. That's also how we met - on a mountain in Albania in 2023. Søren did a bit of bicycle traveling before we met, so that's now our preferred way to travel.

Languages spoken and countries visited are a combo of our experiences from before and after we met.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

We are interested in meeting new people and explore how people live in the countries we visit. Søren stayed in a lot of homes during his bike travels - all references apart from the latest from hosts are from his trips. We'd like to "pay back" through hosting people in our home.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

We both enjoy reading books and prioritize bringing some physical books with us on hikes and bicycle trips. Mostly books about history, travels and educational books such as ultra processed people, sapiens, beyond possible, touching the void, dopamine nation, the lost art of running, silk roads etc. We read a lot.

We do enjoy watching movies. Usually documentaries or movies about historic events.

Our common favourite band currently is definitely Pink Floyd. We also enjoy the old classics such as Dire Straits, Eric Claption, B.B. King, Creedence, Eagles, etc. We generally have a pretty broad music taste. We often shazam random songs we encounter on our trips.

Søren isn't really religious but he does consider Heinz Stucke kind of a god. Heinz left Germany for a bicycle journey around the world and returned after 50-ish years. I had the privilege to visit him in Germany.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Ksenia: Doing eight French and Italian alp mountain passes in ten days on my first ever bicycle trip without any training.

Søren: To do my first bicycle trip from Denmark to Macedonia at the age of 18. It got my whole travel passion started.

If you have a broken bike, let us know. Maybe we can help when you / we arrive! Søren already fixed a handful of bikes throughout his travels.

We appreciate cooking and would love to cook a nice meal for our hosts. Otherwise stories from the road.
