About Me
28/08/2024 THE DAY I BECAME A NOMAD!
I left Antwerp, I’m gonna travel and live somewhere else for a while!
———————
About me. Well, I could tell my whole story, where I come from and where I am right now, but at the end it doesn't really matter (and also, better you discover some things by yourself), so I'll just say a bunch of random things.
I'm definitely an open-minded, honest and straight-forward person. My approach to the world is essentially optimistic. Even though sometimes I see where things are going, I always believe that everybody can influence the world in a positive way. Which is what I try to do in my small every-day life.
➤ My biggest passion is travelling (duh!), even if unfortunately, until now, I didn't have the occasion (let's say mostly the balls) to do all my dream travels.
I've just came back to Belgium after my first long, solo trip (6 months traveling through West Africa), and now I know I will leave again very soon! :D

My freshly new YouTube channel! Check it out (and subscribe!) here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqXKd8Vp1zedGv_7vaQjEIw
➤ Music is a very big part of my life. Except from being a musician (I sing, I play guitar and recently I started playing djembe), I'm also a singer-songwriter (currently releasing my own songs) and I work in small and big festivals and events here in Belgium.
You can check my songs via my LinkTree:

➤ Third love: learning new languages (even if I go somewhere just for 4 days, I try to learn the local language :D), talking about languages, teaching languages (for now mostly Italian and Dutch)!
I also teach on iTalki, check my profile out! https://teach.italki.com/teacher/8118925 :)
➤ I guess I should also mention something about Antwerp. Fell in love with this city some years ago and now I can pretty much say it became one of my homes. Sometimes I got distracted by beers.. "sometimes"
[PLEASE ALSO READ "HOME AND PREFERENCES"!]
[PLEASE don’t make the “copy-paste-messages” obvious… for example texting me a request in English if you’re Italian…]
[PLEASE DO LEAVE A REFERENCE IF I HOST YOU... that's like the least you can do if someone shares with you their personal space and time]
[Last but not least: FREE PALESTINE!]
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on CS because I truly believe in community, hospitality and sharing.
I love to discover new cultures, to learn new languages, to find out what all of us have in common or what are our differences (which are our strengths as well).
If I have to say it in one cheesy sentence: "Together we are better!"
Interests
Already told you:
1) TRAVEL! (my way of travel)
2) MUSIC. And everything related: concerts, live music in small venues, festivals, jamming, busking, dancing.
Other things I enjoy: a good beer or a glass of wine, everything regarding languages, a slice of pizza, cooking, a good deep talk at night, sunsets, fresh air, plants, my alone time, autumn breeze, a cup of tea, the sound of waves, walking, going to art exhibitions, taking pictures around with my camera (mostly portraits and architecture), cycling, yoga and meditation, camping, hiking in the nature, crazily dancing alone at home with loud music, knowing people's story, being on the train, a good massage, the smell of warm bread, dogs and all animals, true smiles and laughs of people.. and in general small things, but with great significance.

Music, Movies, and Books
It's gonna be too long. Let's talk about this face to face!
Just a hint on the latest updates in my taste:
MUSIC: too long, but lets say that since my latest travels I've been listening to A LOT of Afrobeats and Dancehall, so if I host you right now you'll probably hear a lot of that :D
BOOKS: The Alchemist (I always read it before a travel)
MOVIES: I'm not a big fan of watching TV in general, so I just watch things that are interesting to me or from where I can learn something
SERIES: I'm a huge FRIENDS nerd.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one?!
Well, ok. I've done quite a few "crazy" things in my life.. but I'm just gonna share here some nice things I've done (things I'm proud of!).
1) I organised and hosted a music open mic/world music festival for some years here in Antwerp
Mara Moja Sessions ~ https://www.facebook.com/maramojasessions/ ~ https://www.instagram.com/maramojasessions/ ~ https://www.youtube.com/@maramojasessions
2) I unexpectedly worked for the directors on the movie "Le Otto Montagne" (watch it if you still haven't, super beautiful movie)
3) I briefly worked at the coolest music venue in Belgium (Ancienne Belgique), plus I worked at Rock Werchter festival and saw soooo many cool concerts for free!
4) I started a language exchange project in my Italian hometown

Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I can share my cooking skills, we can play music, practice languages, talk a lot (I love to talk a lot...).. or we can just grab a good Belgian beer! Ah, I can definitely share good music. And show you the best spots and bars in Antwerp, both for beers and for music ;)
