I'm a second-year PhD student at the University of Leeds, where I study US history. In particular, I look at the history of race and activism in second wave feminism. I'm always keen to talk history, feminism, identity politics, social justice...etc. I'm also keen to talk rubbish about silly things and speculate on the bigger questions in life (socks - are they underwear?!). I love chatting, board games, good food, good wine, lovely gin, bad food that still tastes delicious, reading, animals, slam poetry (watching, not performing) and swing dance. I'm not a massive party-animal, although I do go out on occasion still - but I'm probably more often happier to stay in with a bottle of wine and a book, a good conversation, or Netflix. Please do message me to find out more!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I spend a lot of time in the USA doing archival work, and sometimes it gets a bit isolating. It's nice to meet people in the area to have someone to socialise with and to find out about fun things to do locally!
Music, Movies, and Books
I love anything by Margaret Atwood or Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I've been reading some Donna Tartt recently and it's remarkable. My partner and I having been reading Terry Pratchett together and it's been great. I love when you read a book that you get so emotionally involved with that you feel like the characters are your friends.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm pretty good at baking! So I can maybe bring that to the table. I particularly enjoy making bread - I make a pretty tasty couronne. I also have some (slim) swingdance skills, so I could teach some basics of that! I like to learn! More or less anything. Can't promise I'll be good at it but I'll be a keen student.
