About Me
Hey!
Salma here :) I’m from Egypt and currently living in Cairo. I love meeting people who are curious, creative, and up for a little adventure as I’m very much the same! I enjoy cultural events, art shows, galleries, and spontaneous plans that somehow turn into great stories.
I work at a bank, my “responsible adult” job 😅, but I’m also involved with a cultural organization where I get to do what I truly love connecting people, exchanging traditions, and bringing cultures together through meaningful conversations and shared experiences, which I also would like to discuss with you when meeting up!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Every traveller adds a new perspective to my world. I’d love to meet people visiting Egypt to explore historical places together, talk for hours about life, travel, and culture, challenge stereotypes, and build bridges. I actually love the idea of a planet without borders.
If you want, I can also teach you some fun Egyptian Arabic phrases or tongue twisters, and I’d love to learn a few in your language too (I only know 2 tongue twisters in Italian so far, haha!)
Even if we don’t meet, feel free to text me if you need tips, local advice, or help while you’re in Egypt — I’m happy to share what I know.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a really mixed taste in music,. I also love attending cultural and musical shows in Cairo when I can. For me, art and music are some of the best ways to understand a culture, and we have truly good ones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve helped young people travel abroad for the first time through volunteering programs, and saw how those journeys changed their lives (and mine).
Teach, Learn, Share
