ABOUT ME

I like to think about myself as a very deep person who's interested in the simple things of life. I'm curious and try to learn something new everyday. I also enjoy the beauty hidden in the details.

I'm passionate about connection, nature (ecology and human nature as well), visual arts, the human mind, languages, multiculturalism, self-knowledge and I'm interested in a wide range of subjects.

I believe that EVERY person in the world has something to teach and learn and all we need is just the opportunity to meet.

I seek to keep my heart open to let people approach and try to understand people's different perspectives, once for me, respect for diversity is the key for progress. That's why I Iove going for walks, traveling by bus and talking to random ordinary strangers. I quite often have very pleasant surprises doing so.

You will notice that some people refer to me as Ed in my references. I was born Ed but I've changed so much that I don't feel like Ed any more so I've adopted a new name that is more according to the person I am now: Sanandra, nice to meet you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's all about connection. I'm on CouchSurfing to connect with people. I'm often willing to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to intake different perspectives by connecting with people with different backgrounds.

This is the magic of hosting/being hosted by someone, for me. It's all about opening/entering someone else's universe and hopefully growing more empathy.

I can say I'm interested in almost any thing as long as there is an open mind and and open ears on both sides. I've been investigating "alternative" ways of living and approaches to the immaterial part of us (psychology, philosophy, spirituallity, extraterrestrial life, ancient cultures wisdom, quantum physics, atheism, philosophy, expansion of consciousness, altered consciousness states etc) so if you're willing to share your perspectives on this regards (even if you don't believe it all but have an open mind and like to discuss this matters), I'll enjoy it very much.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some of the cool spots in Salvador and the state of Bahia related to art, culture, music, nice landscapes and traditional manifestations of our culture. Not into visiting tourist spots or staying out late at night. I prefer little and simple hidden places where mostly locals (or maybe not even locals) go.

Deep conversations. It doesn't mean I'm serious all the time. I love good humour and laugh but I am definitely not a small talk person.
