There’s a Chinese saying I love: “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap… If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.” I carry that with me wherever I go.

One time, while I was traveling solo in a small town, I met a lost tourist who didn’t speak the local language and looked completely overwhelmed. I stepped in to help—translating, guiding them to their hostel, and even sharing a meal with them. We ended up talking for hours, swapping stories about our cultures, dreams, and all the little unexpected turns that travel brings.

What started as a random moment became a real connection. And honestly? That day stayed with me more than any museum, monument, or mountain ever has. It reminded me that we don’t just travel to see places—we travel to meet people, and sometimes, to be there for them exactly when they need it.
